Charles Patterson

Charles "Butch" Patterson Jr., age 82, passed away at home on Friday, October 29, 2021 in Young Harris, Georgia. Butch was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Bertha (Gill) Patterson, born on July 24,1939 in Baltimore, Maryland. Butch served his country in the US Army, then went on to become a master electrician and an entrepreneur. He was a member of the local VFW, the Wellness Fitness Center and a member of the IBEW Local 24. He spent his free time building race cars, going to the races, reading, golfing, splitting wood, tending to his flower and vegetable gardens and was extremely passionate about all animals. He loved music more than most people and going to concerts. Butch collected beer cans and always dreamed of owning a bar; that dream came true when he opened the "Ten Mile House" in Owings Mills, Maryland where he and his daughter worked together for 20 years before he retired to the North Georgia mountains.

Butch is preceded in death by his above-mentioned parents Charles and Bertha Patterson. He leaves behind his daughter, Deborah Patterson; his partner and companion, Dianne Martindale; and many, many friends and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society Mountain Shelter P.O. Box 1252 Blairsville, Georgia 30514

The family requests everyone in attendance to please wear a mask.
Visitation: Thursday, November 4, 2021 in the chapel of Banister-Cooper Funeral Home 10-11AM.

Dad – thank you for being the best dad and friend. The years working together were such a gift. You taught me infinitely thru example and now I will rely on that to guide me. You have always been and will continue to be my rock. Love you so, so much and will miss you always. I think you and Willie will now be exploring a new journey together. I will take care of Mikey and the other grandcats. Love, Deb

We will sorely miss our buddy Butch. He was a consummate historian. Could quote dates and incidences from virtually any time period. Memory impeccable. Hed do anything for anyone in need. Our prayers go out to his companion of 25 years and our friend Diane and his only daughter Debbie. May God reset his rambunctious soul! Love Gail and Bob Hanley
