MS. SHERRI LYNN (BARNES) WILSON
Sherri loved her children and her family. She took pride in their accomplishments and gave encouragement when it was needed. Sherri was beautiful, charismatic and intelligent. Because of these attributes, people were drawn to her. When she was happy, the mood of everyone was lifted. Due to the power of her personality, her happiness and joy were contagious and those days remain bittersweet memories now.
Sherri came into the world June 07, 1973 in Blairsville, GA to the proud parents of Garry and Janie Barnes. She attended Hayesville High School then went on to UNC-Asheville where she received her bachelors degree in psychology. Sherri enjoyed working with those with special needs. She had a serving heart and took the plight of those with disabilities very seriously.
Sherri then took on the most important job of her life, becoming a mother to her beloved children, Ellyana Belle and Nicholas Keaton. The job of motherhood was her most loved and rewarding job she ever had. Ellyana and Nicholas were the light of her life and her love for her children was immeasurable.
Sherri attended Hillcrest Assembly of God in Hayesville, NC. She was active in the women’s ministry and would fill in any role needed. She loved her God and always enjoyed talking about her faith.
Those left behind include her daughter, Ellyana Belle, son, Nicholas Keaton, parents, Garry and Janie Barnes, brothers, Johnny Barnes, Jackie Barnes and wife Jamie, Gary Barnes and wife Sabrina, sister Jennifer Barnes, two nieces, Tabitha and Natalie Barnes, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and countless friends. She will forever be in the hearts of those who knew her.
Funeral services for Sherri include visitation September 29, 2012 from 6-9 PM from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on September 30, 2012 at 2:00PM from Hillcrest Assembly of God with Rev. Aline Mosteller officiating. Pallbearers were: Johnny Barnes, Jackie Barnes, Gary Barnes, Robin Patterson, Terry Patterson and Terry Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were: Britt Carter and Monroe Davenport. Interment was in Bethel cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
