Ann Crum Hammond

Ann C Hammond, 89 of Hiawassee passed away peacefully on March 21, 2021.  She was born in Bartow Florida, the daughter of Clifford and Kathleen (Kit) Crum, and sister to Bill Crum and Mary Jean Dyrenforth.  Her son, Cliff Scott, daughter Lynn Paschall, parents and brother predecease her.  

Ann was a bright shining light in the lives of others and leave behind many who will miss her dearly including her daughters Deborah Webb, Tracy (Jim) Tittle  and Carol (Mike) Helmase, her granddaughter, Jesse Tittle, her sister, Mary Jean Dyrenforth, and many other relatives and friends. Always an animal lover, she leaves behind her beloved cat, Lady.

She was married for over 30 years to Maurice E. Hammond and they made their home in Port St Lucie Florida before moving to Hiawassee in 2010.  Maurice passed away in 2012.  

Prior to her marriage to Maurice, Ann worked for the state of Ga in the computer department.  After marriage and moving to Florida, she was co-owner of Treasure Coast Monuments in Fort Pierce, Fl. with Maurice.  

She and Maurice spent many years as Order of the Eastern Star members in both the Port St Lucie and Stuart Chapters.  Ann held both chapter and state officer positions with Maurice by her side.  

As Jesse’s ‘Nana’, she was frequently seen attending school and other functions. She was Nana to all of Jesse’s friends.  She was also part of the Silver Singles enjoying the many group activities, along with being a member of McConnell Baptist church in Hiawassee.  She refuses to let Covid keep her from church, so she joined facebook to watch services when in person attendance wasn’t possible.
