Barnett C Gibson

Mr. Barnett Claude Gibson, age 76 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011 following a period of declining health. He was born to the late, Jarrett and Claude (Patterson) Gibson on December 15, 1934 in Hayesville, NC. He was preceded in death by wife, Mary Doris Gibson and son Douglas Gibson. He is survived by daughters, Tanya Gibson, of Hiawassee, GA; Tedra Savage, of Mayesville, GA; sons, Tommy Gibson, of Cleveland, GA; Gary Gibson, of Winder, GA; brother, Leonard Gibson, of Hiawassee, GA; sister, Thelma McClure, of Hayesville, NC; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a number of step-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Monday, August 01, 2011 at 11:00AM from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home with Rev. Lewis Welch officiating. Pallbearers were all the grandchildren. Interment was in Lower Bell Creek Cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
