Bernice H. Burch

Mrs. Bernice H. Burch, age 91 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Sunday, March 09,
2014 following a period of declining health. She was born to the late pearl and
Lilly (Anderson) Hogsed on July 03, 1922 in Hayesville, NC. She was a member of
Upper Bell Scene Baptist Church and was married to Clyde C. Berrong (deceased in
his early 30’s), and Truett Burch, also deceased, both of Hiawassee, GA. She was
preceded in death by a brother, David Hogsed, a sister, Dair Turner, a great
grandchild, a daughter-in-law, Sarah Berrong. She is survived by daughters and
sons-in-law, Jimmie and Lee Dailey of Hiawassee, GA; Rebecca and Ron Beal, of
Hiawassee, GA; son, J.C. Berrong, of Hiawassee, GA; brothers, Gerald Hogsed, of Aiken, SC; Robert (Bob) Hogsed, of Hiawassee, GA; Marvin (Lake) Hogsed, of Randleman, NC; four grandchildren, five
great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral
services were held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of
Banister Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Ledford officiating. Music was provided
by Ryan Wilson. Pallbearers were: Cotton Penland, David Penland, Dale Penland,
Gene Penland, Jeff Penland and Dwight Penland.  In lieu of flowers, the family
asks donations and contributions be made to: Bethel Cemetery Fund, c/o Charles
Parker, 769 Muskrat Creek Rd., Hayesville, NC 28904. Interment was in Bethel
Baptist Church cemetery in Hayesville, NC. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in
charge of arrangements.
