Bruce Kermit Kimsey, age 91 of Hiawassee, passed away at Union General Hospital after an extended illness. Bruce was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Esco and Bertha (Lowe) Kimsey on March 31, 1932 in Hiawassee, Georgia. He was of the Baptist faith. Bruce was in the United States Air Force from 1951 and released from active duty in June 1954 but continued in the Air Force Reserves until October 1959, completing his military service as an Airman 3rd Class. For his honorable service, Bruce was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Bruce went to North Georgia Trade School and received certification as an electrician and refrigerator repair which he put to use for over 40 years repairing refrigerators for restaurants and businesses all over north Georgia. He was elected and served for eight years as Towns County Clerk of Courts. After retiring he loved to golf and spend time with his family.
