Carmen Arencibia was born on March 16, 1931 in Havana Cuba to Rodrigo and Teresa Ponce de Leon and was married to her soulmate Jose Arencibia for sixty two years. Carmen passed away peacefully in her home on January 24, 2022 with her husband at her side. The family of four immigrated to Cedartown, Georgia in 1965 and made it their home for fifty two years where they raised their two sons Joey and Raul. She loved her family life and truly devoted her time to her husband and two boys. She was a wonderful seamstress which was her job for many years until she and her husband opened and operated a baby furniture store. They moved to Hiawassee the summer of 2018. She loved cooking Cuban cuisine and was excellent at it. She knew how to make individuals feel welcome with her spunky, cheerful personality and unforgettable laugh. Carmen was a very active member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Cedartown.
Surviving Carmen Arencibia are her husband Jose Arencibia and her two sons Joey (Ann) and Raul (Jeff). Grandchildren Bart, Alexa, Gabby (Cass), and Grant.
Celebration of Carmen’s life will be held on Saturday February 19th at 12:00 pm with visitation starting at 10:30 am at St .Bernadette Church in Cedartown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Bernadette Church or The American Heart Association.
