Carolyn Sue Wittmer

Mrs. Carolyn Sue Wittmer, age 75, of Hayesville passed away Thursday,  February 17, 2022 at home. Born to the late Mr. and Mrs. William and  Pearl (Glover) Byrd in Benson, North Carolina on July 12, 1946, she later went on to marry her beloved husband David Wittmer. She was a member of Oak Forest United Methodist Church in Hayesville. Carolyn was a devoted Christian wife, mother, and grandmother with a heart of gold. She loved her grandchildren deeply, enjoyed cooking and traveling. We are so blessed that God allowed her to be a part of our lives.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her above mentioned parents. She leaves behind her loving husband of 67 months, David Wittmer; daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Butch Heckel; son and daughter-in-law Timothy and Angel Vause; sister, Edna Pearl "Aunt Pearly" Hermanson; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren with one on the way; and a host of extended family and friends.

Mrs. Carolyn's life was celebrated on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at her church with many family and friends in attendance.
