Carrie B. Walls

Carrie B. Walls, age 95 of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home. Carrie was born January 18, 1928 to the late Johnnie and Vella Mae (Wheeler) Nichols in Tate City, GA. She was a lifetime resident of Towns County and worked hard all her life.  She had many talents including quilting, embroidery, crafting, coloring, and drawing. At the age of 76, she went back to work at the Senior Center, and also volunteered for the Humane Society by restoring dolls. She was truly an amazing lady, and a beloved mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed. 

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband for over forty years, Fred Walls; brother, Ross Wheeler; sister, Mozelle Nichols; two sons-in-law, Nolan Wood and Edward Ledford; granddaughter, Gina Wimpey. and grandson-in-law, Brian Kemp.  She is survived by her children, Jean (Thomas) Wimpey, Joyce Wood, Joanne Ledford, Jerry (Patricia) Walls, Janice Walls Perry, and Martha Walls; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Chatuge Regional Nursing Home for their loving care of Mrs. Carrie during her time with them.

Private family services will be held.
