Chester George Newman

Chester George Newman, age 89 formerly of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022. Chester was born October 21, 1932 in Pasco County, Florida. Chester retired from the U.S. Air Force with 21 years service and Retired CF Industries 20 years. He liked to garden and make sure his yard was mowed and taken care of along with his daughters yard. He was a supporter for shelters and organizations for many years. Chester was a loving, kind, overall good guy and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and  Effie Willis; Wife, Elaine Newman; Step daughters Peggy Haney and Rhonda Neizer.

He is survived by his Brother Donald (Shirley) Willis; Children, Marcus (Rita) Newman, Melinda (Bill) Mittenmeyer;Step Daughters, Ramona (James) Holmes, Debbie Roberts;13 Grandchildren, numerous Great-Grandchildren and his two Dachshunds that he loved dearly.

Visitation: Friday, February 25, 2022 from 11:00am -12:00pm at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home.

Graveside service: Friday, February 25, 2022 at 12:30 at Macedonia Cemetery with Rev. Wade Lott officiating.

Banister-Cooper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Newman.
