Christine H. Gray

Christine H. Gray, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home in Hiawassee, Ga. Christine was a woman of strong faith, she loved the Lord, her church (First Freewill Baptist Church), and her church family deeply. She was a true southern lady and was always making certain that everything matched, and everything was just right. She lived her life to the absolute fullest, enjoying shopping trips, eating at great restaurants, and being on the go constantly.

 Having no children of her own she became very close to her niece Sharon; they had an amazing bond throughout the years. During her time at the nursing home, she passed the time coloring. Many of the adult coloring pages were displayed throughout the nursing home for others to enjoy.

 Christine was preceded in death by her husband Frank Robert Gray, three sisters, Priscilla Agerton, Lena Hawthrone, and Wannette Garner, and three nephews, Johnny James, Charles James, and Billy Joe James.

 Christine leaves behind her niece/daughter Sharon and her husband Arthur Sir; brother Paul Miller Hughes; sister Faye James along with many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

 The family wanted to thank Chatuge Regional Nursing Home for the great care they took of not only Christine, but of Sharon and Arthur as well.

 A service is planned for Christine on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at First Freewill Baptist Church located at 259 Tusquittee Street, Hayesville, NC 28904 with visitation beginning at 11:00AM and service will be at 12:00.

The family wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during the last few weeks.
