Doris H. Gober, age 86, of Young Harris, Georgia passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024. Doris was born February 11, 1938 to the late Lendon and Essie (Yancey) Higgins in Boaz, Alabama. She was a loving wife and mother who loved spending time with her family. Over the years her and her husband enjoyed square dancing and camping with her family and their square dance family. Doris was loved and will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Interment to follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Riverdale, Georgia.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Huey C. Gober; daughter, Doris Lenese; son, Steve Baker; brothers, June Higgins, Marvin "Buddy" Higgins, Leon Higgins; sisters, Louise Rogers, Clara Parmer, Nena Dickens. She is survived by her daughters, Pat Radford, Fran (Jeff) Bonafacchi; son, Bill (Terri) Gober; brother, J.W. (Linda) Higgins; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 12:00-1:00pm at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home
Funeral: Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 1:00pm at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Hubburd officiating.Interment to follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Riverdale, Georgia.
