Mrs. Doris Alene (Owenby) Henderson, age 79, of Hayesville, NC passed away on July 18, 2012 in Clay County Care Center. She was born t the late Barnie and Dorothy (Stillwell) Owenby on November 18, 1932 in Blairsville, GA. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Henderson and a sister Wanda Allen. She is survived by her daughter, Ruby Hunter, of Hiawassee, GA; son, Ray Henderson, of Young Harris, GA; brother, James Owenby, of Chattanooga, TN; sisters, Betty Gallman, of Dalton, GA; Wynell Huggins, of Lawrenceville, GA; Mary Thacker, of Grayson, GA; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00AM from Many Forks Baptist Church with Rev. Farrell Presley and Rev. Brian Satterfield officiating. Visitation was held on July 20, 2012 from 6-8 PM from Many Forks Baptist Church. Music was provided by Speed Hunter, Jane Henson, Sherry Ledford and Lynda Garmon.  Pallbearers were: Speed Hunter, Greg Henderson, Rodney Quinton, Scott Lockaby, Jr. Lockaby, Hubert Plott, L.D Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers were: Logan Quinton and Hunter Quinton. Interment was in Many Forks Baptist Church cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
