Doris Elese Sampson Roberts, age 91 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Thursday, March 05, 2015. Doris was born to the late Noah Lester and Ardilly Louola (Mathis) Sampson on April 27, 1923 in Young Harris, GA. She grew up with three sisters; Ruby Justice, Jessie Groves Rogers and Mildred Wallace Childers and brother Elbert Sampson, all deceased. There were two brothers and one sister who passed away before she was born, she was the baby of the family and the last one to pass. Doris is survived by one daughter, Sandra Roberts Queen of Alpharetta, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Russell A. Roberts and Debbie Marshall Roberts of Young Harris, GA; grandchildren, Teresa Cox of Flowery Branch, Terence Queen of Blairsville, Jeremy and Kim Queen of Ellijay, Jennifer and Bobby Brown of Marietta, Matthew and Jennifer Roberts of Semora, SC and Jeremy Eller of Young Harris. The family received friends at the funeral home Friday, March 6, 2015 from 5-8PM. Services were held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 3:00PM at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Young Harris with Rev. Ricky Rogers officiating. Interment followed at Cornerstone Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers were Dennis Roberts, Wayne Roberts, Jeremy Eller, Matthew Roberts, Jeremy Queen and Terence Queen. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee, GA in charge of arrangements.
