Dorothy Elizabeth Marshall

Dorothy Elizabeth Marshall, age 80 of Young Harris, GA, passed away on Sunday, May 03, 2015 following a courageous battle with ALS. She was born to the late Charles and Elma Clyde (McClure) Burch on March 16, 1935 in Hiawassee, GA. Elizabeth attended Woods Grove Baptist Church for many years where she cooked many meals while the new church was being built and for all funerals. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Elizabeth was an avid reader and gardener. She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Ralph Marshall; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Eddie McNabb of Flowery Branch, GA; son and daughter-in-law, David and Cheryl Marshall of Napierville, IL; son, Daniel Marshall of Young Harris, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Emma Marshall of Young Harris, GA; sisters, Barbara McConnell and Rita Hooper; eight grandchildren, Chad and Eric Marshall, Jessica Bruckner, Jess McNabb, Katie Watkins, Sarah McNabb, Samuel McNabb, and Stephanie Marshall; two great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Branson Burch. Funeral services were held from the chapel at Banister Funeral Home on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Richard Roberson and Rev. Danny Burch officiating. Music was provided by Alan Kendall and Jordan Marshall. Pallbearers were Steve Marshall, Mike Marshall, Jason King, Chad Marshall, Eric Marshall and Jess McNabb. Interment was at Burch cemetery with Rev. Scott Sims officiating. The family received friends Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Banister Funeral Home. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Georgia in charge of arrangements.
