Eva R Southern

Mrs. Eva Ruth Southern, age 65 of Blairsville, GA passed away on Monday, August 13, 2007 following a period of declining health. She was born on October 23, 1941 to the late Arvel Milton Shook and Inez (Hooper) Shook in Towns County, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James R. Southern and father, Mr. Arvel Shook She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Inez Shook, of Young Harris, GA; daughters, Tia Clayton, of Marietta, GA; Laura Brown, of Blairsville, GA; sons, Ricky Southern, of Kennesaw, GA; David Southern, of Jacksonville, FL; Jonathan Southern, of Young Harris, GA; Joe Southern, of Young Harris, GA; Delin Brown, of Blairsville, GA; Jimmy Southern, of Young Harris, GA; brothers, Paul Shook, of Young Harris, GA; Grover Shook, of Young Harris, GA; Guy Wayne Shook, of Blairsville, GA; Terrell Shook, of Woodstock, GA; sister, Joyce Hamby, of Young Harris, GA; sixteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 2:00 PM from West Union Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Young and Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Pallbearers were: Joshua Southern, Michael Southern, Jes Southern, Jason Holdaway, Steve Holloway and Brian Underwood. Honorary pallbearers were Austin Gibson and Dustin Brown. Interment was in West Union Baptist Church cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee entrusted with arrangements.
