Everett Jay Arrowood

Mr. Everett Jay Arrowood, age 73 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011 at Chatuge Regional Hospital. He was born to the late Earl and Lizzie (Berrong) Arrowood, on August 13, 1938 in Hiawassee, GA. He is preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Fain. He was retired Chief of Police of Hiawassee, GA. He is survived by his wife, Joann Arrowood, of Hiawassee, GA; daughter, Merica Arrowood, of Hiawassee, GA; sons, Ricky Arrowood, of Boston, MA; Jeff Arrowood, of Hiawassee, GA; brothers, Ernest, Edwin, Emitt, Elliott and Eldon Arrowood; sisters, Lita Garrett, Lois Collins, Lucy Cejka, Linda Hammons and Lannie Ledford; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 6-9 PM from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM from Lower Hightower Baptist Church with Pastor Raburne Wilson, Rev. Harold Ledford and grandson Austin Arrowood officiating. Pallbearers were: Austin Arrowood, Rudy Roach, Larry Owens, Coot Owens, Curt Ledford, Chris Henson and Ode Henson. Honorary pallbearers were: Timmy Denton, Larry Gibson, Joe Gibson and Danny Gibson. Interment was in Lower Hightower Baptist Church cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
