Mrs. Genevie Marie Taylor, age 85 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Thursday June 02, 2011 at her residence. She was born to the late Enoch and Mettie Jane (Taylor) Nichols, of May 03, 1926 in Andrews, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Taylor, two children, James Enoch Taylor and Noel Cleborn (Jelly) Taylor; six sisters, Angie Nichols McClain, Birdie Nichols Griffith, Bietha Nichols Slaughter, Bennie Nichols Bawles, Dorothy Nichols Hill and Betty Jean Nichols Ratliff and one brother, Fate D. Hopper. Genevie was a homemaker, devoted and faithful wife, and a Mother full of love, compassion and concern for all her loved ones. She is survived by three sons, Jack Taylor and wife to be, Amanda Shelton, of Hiawassee, GA; William Alvin Taylor and Kathy, of Ball Ground, GA; Loy P. Taylor, of Jasper, GA; Daughters-in-law, Glenda Taylor and Shirley Taylor; sisters, Annalee Nichols Rowland, of Aquone, NC, Magdelean Nichols Rowland, of Knoxville, TN, Marva Dean Nichols London Cagley, of Knoxville, TN; Joann Nichols Ragan, of Maysville, GA; eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 05, 2011 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Rogers and Rev. Larry Hedden officiating. Pallbearers were: Shane Taylor, Keith Taylor, Michael Taylor, Ron McClendon, Casey Shook and Jimmy Taylor, Jr. Interment was in Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
