George W Owenby

Mr. George William Owenby, age 83 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Monday, January 03, 2011 following a period of declining health. He was born to the late Jess and Neta (Berrong) Owenby on August 29, 1927 in Hiawassee, GA. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Mary Owenby, of Hiawassee, GA; daughters, Linda Hooper of Hiawassee, GA; Trudy Allen, of Hiawassee, GA; Hilda Burke, of Clarkesville, GA; sister, Hazel Davenport, of Toccoa, GA; seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Owenby were held on Wednesday, January 05, 2011 at 2:00PM from North Mt. Zion Church of God with Pastor Raburne Wilson and Rev. Glen Eller officiating. Music was provided by Ryan Wilson. Pallbearers were: Russell Hedden, Stetson Hedden, Ronnie Stroud, Colton Shook, Jackie Barnes and Brian Hogsed. Interment was in Macedonia cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
