Mrs. Gladys Puett, age 95 of Young Harris, GA passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 following a sudden illness. She was preceded in death by a grandson, John Puett. She was a member of Old Brasstown Baptist Church for over fifty years. She was born to the late Asbury and Lulu (Nichols) Sampson on February 07, 1918 in Young Harris, GA. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Cathy Puett, of Wygheville, VA; one brother, Clarence Sampson, of Marietta, GA; sisters, Bonnie Lewis, of Marietta, GA and Mae Wimpy, of Young Harris, GA; grandchildren, Roger Puett, Jr., Michelle (Tom) Howard, Scott (Sharon) Klientop, Todd Klientop; two great grandchildren, Kelsey Puett and Thomas Howard. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 16, 2013 at 3:00PM from Old Brasstown Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Stiles officiating. Music was provided by Old Brasstown Baptist Church. Pallbearers was the nephews of Mrs. Puett. Interment was in Old Brasstown Baptist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations and contributions may be made to Old Brasstown Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. One of her favorite quotes was â Old gardeners never die, they just spade awayâ.
