Gladys NULL Underwood

Gladys Underwood, age 97 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Monday, February 15, 2010 following a period of declining health. She was born to the late Charlie and Mary (Stroud) Whitner on April 24, 1912 in Hiawassee, GA. She is survived by her daughters, Betty London, of Hiawassee, GA; Blon Edwards, of Hiawassee, GA; Barbara Drew, of Blairsville, GA; son, Carol Underwood, of Hiawassee, GA; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 1:00PM from Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Dye officiating. Music was provided by Rodney and Becky Underwood. Pallbearers were grandsons: Tony McConnell, Tim McConnell, Scott Edwards, Ronnie London and Aaron Underwood. Honorary pallbearers were great grandsons: Matthew Loftis, Michael Orr, Jimmy Merrett, Levi McConnell, Clay McConnell and Brad McConnell. Interment was in Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
