Hoyt L Shook

Mr. Hoyt Lee Shook, age 77 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Tuesday, May 05, 2009 following a period of declining health. He was born to the late John "Andy" and Vera (Justice) Shook on August 22, 1931 in Towns County, GA. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Tommy Gibson, of Hiawassee, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Nancy Shook, of Hiawassee, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Brenda Shook, of Young Harris, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Earlene and Bud Holcomb, Faye and R.L. Nichols, both of Young Harris, GA; a sister-in-law, Delthia Shook, also of Young Harris, GA; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 07, 2009 at 11:00 AM from Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Williams and Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Pallbearers were Richard Nichols, Frank Shook, Keith Holcomb, Billy Barnes, Steve Holloway and Kenny Stroud. Music was provided by the Benny Shook Family. Interment was in West Union Baptist Church cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
