Irene Florence Cook, age 82, of Hiawassee, GA., (formerly of Savannah, GA) passed away October 28, 2009. Mrs. Cook was born in Pawtucket Rhode Island, the daughter of Joseph A. and Adele (Bedard) Laliberte. She had lived in Savannah for over fifty years before moving to a retirement community in Hiawassee. She was a homemaker and a talented designer and seamstress having worked for Tailor Made Draperies. She was of the Catholic faith, having been a member of Blessed Sacrament Church for over forty years. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles H. Cook of Savannah. She is survived by her daughters, Carol C. Ratliff (Karl) of Milledgeville GA, Diana Kampion, Milledgeville GA, Beverly Clayton (Robert) of Palatka Fl. And Annette Stookey of Hiawassee GA, also her brothers Henry Laliberte of Cranston Rhode Island and Armand Laliberte (Lucille) of Pt. St. Lucie Fl. She is also survived by her grandsons, John Bland (Mary) Mooresville NC, Brian Bland (Destiny) of Bloomingdale GA. and Guy Payne of Bryceville FL. She had seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service Wednesday, Nov.4th, 10 am, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Savannah, GA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to one's favorite charity. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee, GA in charge of local arrangements.
