James Lee Melton

James Lee Melton, age 73, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 2, 2020. James was born April 4, 1947 in Clayton, Georgia to the late John Henry and Fairleen (Powell) Melton. James was well known for his Barber shop of 50 years and driving a bus for over 10 years. He loved his buddy Duke and his Ford trucks. James loved the Lord and attended Lower Hightower Baptist church for a number of years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Martha Sue Melton, of 49 years.

He is survived in death by his brother, Jesse (Carole) Melton; daughter, Lisa (Bear) Baxter; son, Jim (Christie) Melton; grandchildren, Maci Walls, Chase and Kaila Reece, Katie and Haley Baxter; two nieces, one nephew and “special daughter” Alicia Strange. James will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Pallbearers: Speed Hunter, Jacky Jones, Jr Chastain, LG Hamilton, Leon Bradshaw, Larry Swanson, Johnny Welch, and David Ledford.

Visitation - Wednesday, November 4, 2020 from 11:00am-2:00pm at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home 

Funeral Service - Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 2:00pm at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Merck and Larry Hedden officiating. Interment will follow at Enotah Cemetery.
