John NULL Denton

Mr. John Denton, age 88 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Friday, September 21, 2007 following a period of declining health. He was born to the late Damascus and Minnie (Smith) Denton on August 22, 1919 in Towns County, GA. He was preceded in death by and infant son, E.H. Denton in 1957 and by Ruth Karen Jones in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruby Denton, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Phil Nichols, of Blairsville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Lindy Denton, of Hiawassee, GA; sister, Faye Watkins, of Fletcher, NC; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Monday, September 24, 2007 at 2:00 PM from Lower Hightower Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Cantrell and Rev. George Fortner officiating. Music was provided by Lindy Denton and the Church Choir. Pallbearers were: Chad Jones, Jonathan Nichols, Jeremy Denton, Wes Denton, Tony Denton and John Outler. Honorary pallbearers were: Dick Paris, Roy Lockaby, Ray Mashburn, E.C. Denton, Conrad Watkins, Bill Myers, Carl Davis and Roy Chastain. The North GA Honor Guard presented the graveside service.
