John O. Hyer

John Oral Hyer, age 77, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home. John was born July 27, 1944 in West Virginia to the late Otis and Ethel (Wyatt) Hyer. He was a member of the Chatuge Gun Club. He was a Marksman when he served in the Army and really enjoyed hunting every chance he got. John and Inez were happily married for 16 wonderful years. He was a kind, thoughtful and strong willed man and will be missed by many. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived in death by his wife, Inez Hyer; sons, John (Dorris) D. Hyer and Daniel (Laura) Hyer; step-son, Jeff Martin; step-daughter, Jennifer Kicklighter; two grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Visitation-January 26, 2022 from 12:00-2:00pm at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home. Funeral Service-January 26,2022 at 2:00pm at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Merck officiating. Interment will follow at Lower Hightower Cemetery.
