John Whitney Nichols

John Whitney Nichols, 56, of Young Harris, GA, passed away on April 2, 2023, of
a heart attack after a short battle with cancer. He attended Towns County
Schools, graduated Young Harris College, 1987 and The University of Montana in
Wildlife Biology, 1995. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS O'Bannon.
His tour of duty took him to many ports including six months around the South
American continent.
His different jobs during the years were alway 'outside'. He was his
happiest alone in the woods with nature and his beloved wild animals.
He dreamed of no heaven but that which lay in the woods about him.
He is predeceased by his brother, Bobby. He is survived by his parents,
Bob and Gayle Nichols and his sons, Slayton & Sam.
