Joyce Ann Watson

Joyce Ann Watson, 80, of Hayesville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025. Born on July 27, 1944, Joyce was a woman of deep love and enduring strength. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and beloved sister whose life was a testament to faith, family, and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Bill Watson; her parents, Lela Mae Haney and James “Jim” Buckles; and siblings Connie, Louise, Jimmy, and David.

Joyce is survived by her four sons: BJ Watson (Sheryl), Tracy Watson (Karen), Mike Watson (Shannon), and Bruce Watson. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Ashley (Tyler), Austin (Hadleigh), Jay, Josh, Trey, and Brooke. As well as to her great grandchildren.

She also leaves behind her cherished siblings: Truman, Steve, Kathy, Silvia, Bubba, Sammy, Sandy, Tony, and Lela.

Joyce’s life was centered on the people she loved. She found joy in —family gatherings, laughter around the dinner table, and moments spent with her grandchildren. Her quiet strength, unwavering faith, and generous heart touched the lives of all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held in her honor. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
