Julie Melissa Brinson-Owens, age 44 of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Julie was born September 16, 1979 to Wade Douglas Simmons and Rebecca Jordan in Falls Church, Virginia.
She is preceded in death by her father, Wade Simmons. She is survived by her mother and step-father; husband, Coot Owens; daughters, Madison Brinson, Macy Brinson; step-daughter, Kelly Berry; son, Andrew Brinson; step-son, Kris Phillips; brother, Danny Simmons; sister, Christie Simmons; grandchildren, Brille Berry, Donovan Berry; a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Julie worked at Chatuge Nursing Home for many years as a LPN. Julie was a selfless, strong and compassionate person who didn't mind working hard in every thing she did. Her children recall her being "tough" but loving. She will be deeply missed.
Visitation: Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 11:00am-2:00pm at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home.
Banister-Cooper is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Owens.
