Lee Arthur Dailey

Mr. Lee Arthur Dailey, age 72, of Hiawassee, GA, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015 at North East Georgia Medical Center. He was born to the late Mitch and Carrie (Garrison) Dailey on January 15, 1943 in Hayesville, NC. He was a long time employee of Mt. Vernon Mills and retired from Towns County Sheriff’s Office. He is survived by his wife, Jimmie (Berrong) Dailey of Hiawassee, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Sheila Dailey of Nicholson, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Scott Benfield of Demorest, GA; step-daughter and husband, Marissa and Charles Box; stepson Jeff M. Penland; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Christine Dailey of Hayesville, NC; sister, Betty White of Cornelia, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Jane Ella and Richard Patton of Hayesville, NC; brother-in-law, JC Berrong; sister-in-law and husband, Ron and Becky Beal; grandsons. Brice Gerrin, Reid Benfield, Kyle Benfield, David Box, Michael Box and Jonathan Box; a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Lee was preceded in death by brothers, Horace Dailey, Henry Dailey and Bill Dailey and sisters, Hazel Marshall and Sally Shelton. Funeral services were held at Banister Funeral Home chapel on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 5:00 PM.  The family received friends Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 4-5-P.M. at Banister Funeral Home. Rev. Doug Porter and Rev. Jackie Sallers officiated. Music was provided by Freda Nicholson. Pallbearers were JC Berrong, Brice Gerrin, Michael Dailey, James Baldwin, Ken Nicholson and Don Milliman.
