Lela Mashburn

Lela Garrett Mashburn, age 81, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 peacefully at her home. Lela was born on April 9, 1940 in Hiawassee, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. William and Mae (Phillips) Garrett. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Lela loved her family; she enjoyed when everyone would get together for holidays, meals or just to visit. She loved quilting, sewing and reading. Her family was important to her; she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Lela is preceded in death by her above mentioned parents; son-in-law, Harvey Pyles; two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ray Mashburn; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Phil Kelley, and Debbie and Jerry Hamilton; daughter, Dianne Pyles; son, Russell Mashburn; daughter and son-in-law, Ricky and Becky Bradshaw; brother and sister-in-law, Welchel and Minnie Garrett; sister, Elizabeth Mull; grandchildren, Tonya and Jimmy McCarter, Amy and Justin Smith, AJ Hamilton, Heather and Justin Cochran, Brittany and Daniel Allen, Rayelee Bradshaw, Stephanie and Kenny Michaud, Elizabeth Pyles, Wes and Katy Phillips and Jon Kelley. Also surviving are fifteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Burial in the Lower Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery.
