Lela M Stewart

Lela Mirtus Stewart, age 101, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on January 5, 2022. Mrs. Stewart was born on November 14, 1920 to the late Charley and Ella (Arrowood) Shook in Hiawassee, Georgia. Lela lived most of her life in Miami, Florida. She adored the beach and living the beach lifestyle. Her favorite colors were lavender and purple and in her spare time she liked watching soap operas  and playing monopoly with her family. Her love of coffee was legendary and that love was passed down to her grandchildren. She also worked many years running an engineering supply store. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her siblings Lola, Nola, Marie, Herbie and Boyd. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Lawrence Touchton of Jacksonville, Florida; son, Holmes Stewart of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Alexander and Lisa Touchton; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of extended family. Visitation for Mrs. Stewart was held on January 25, 2022 at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home from 10:00 - 11:00 AM with a graveside service following at Boyd’s Chapel cemetery at 11:00 AM. Banister-Cooper Funeral Home was honored to care for Mrs. Stewart.
