Lilly Ann Barrett, age 80, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Born May 19, 1944 in Young Harris, Georgia, she was one of eight children of TJ and Ruby (McGaha) Shook. Ann attended Old Brasstown Baptist Church and was very active in the food ministry there. She was a hairdresser in her younger years but in her downtime she loved to work in her yard. She was a very talented seamstress, making most of her children's clothing. The highlight of her life was her grandchildren. She spent many years watching her grandchildren for her children to work, which created very close relationships with them. She will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, TJ and Ruby Shook; son, Michael Alan Barrett; brothers, Kenneth Shook, Tommy (Pudge) Shook, and Roger Shook; and sister, Dimple Segert. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jamey and Kim Barrett; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Keith Ussery; daughter, Cherri Lynn Garrett; brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Cathy Shook; sister, Faye Daniels; sister and brother-in-law, Dinah and Kennon Sealbolt; grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher James Ballard, Carina Ann and Eric Mercer, Ryan and Jennifer Ballard, R.
