Max Hogsed, age 92 of Hiawassee, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. He was born in Hiawassee,Ga. on March 2nd, 1931 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Luther and Edna (Wood) Hogsed. Max was drafted out of High school into the Army where he served two years then was given an honorable discharge. He return to his home town taken a job as parts Mgr. at Hiawassee Ford Company,later became the General Manager for sixteen years. Still having the love for cars he opened up his on dealership and worked until he retired at sixty five. Max was an avid golfer and played in Chatuge Shores Mens association, become one of the few that had a Hole in One. In his mid eighty he joined the Young at Heart Bowling league and played until he was eighty nine. He was a devoted husband to Charlene and a dedicated father to Sharon. He was well known as a honest, gentle, soft spoken man who many people looked up to.
Max is preceded in death by his above mentioned parents and six of his siblings. He leaves behind his wife, Charlene (Eller) Hogsed; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jerry Everett of Hiawassee; sister and brother-in-law, Blon and Jerry Gordon of Blue Ridge; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended friends and family.
Pallbearers: Gene Moss, Cliff Bradshaw, Noel Turner, Adrian Hogsed, Josh Hogsed, Zack Hogsed, Matt Everett and Adam Grizzle.
