Michael Grant Chapman

SUBJECT: OBIT FOR: MR. MICHAEL “FA” CHAPMAN
Mike "Fa" Chapman, age 61, of Young Harris passed away at his home surrounded
by his family on June 26, 2013.  "Fa", as he was called by most, was a loving
Husband, Father and Grandfather.  He was a beloved teacher at Eastgate Life
Academy and eternally impacted each student for the Kingdom.  He loved His
family, members of Eastgate Church and the students at Eastgate Life Academy
dearly.  "Fa" fought courageously in the Vietnam War and proudly served his
country until retirement. "Fa" was preceded in death by his parents Melvin Ray and Sallie Angeline
Chapman and brother Kenneth Ray Chapman.  He is survived by his wife, Donna Kay
Chapman; two children, Gary O'Grant Chapman and Lawanda Chapman Lynn;
son-in-law, Micah Joe Lynn; daughter-in-law, Mary Addison Chapman; four
grandchildren, Colin Michael Lynn, Caleb Joseph Lynn, William Kenny Lynn
and
Isabelle June Alverson; siblings, David Allen Chapman, Evangeline Inez Patrick,
Laurie Hamilton, Valerie Milton, Sallie Anne Griffith.  Services were held on Saturday, June 29th at Eastgate Church in Hiawassee, GA
and were officiated by Apostle Greg Roberts.  Music was provided by Tyler Moody.  
Pallbearers were Micah Lynn, Derrick Moody, Andrew Byrd, Vaughn Burgstiner,
Alden Hunter, Terry Eller, Anthony Owens and Terry Utt.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Eastgate Life Academy: P. O. Box
770, Hiawassee, GA 30546. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
