Mike Stephens

Michael Anthony Stephens, 63, of Young Harris, GA, died peacefully at home on Wednesday March 9, 2022 after a brief illness.

Mike was born on June 20, 1958 to the late Ralph and Louise (McClure) Stephens of Young Harris, Ga.

He attended Towns County High School and earned a cosmetology license through Tri-County Community College, and served as a cosmetologist for over 40 years. Mike was a lifelong member of Old Union Baptist Church. His love of travel, family, and music are the legacies and memories he leaves behind. He perhaps will most be remembered for his quick-wit and laughter. Mike was never short of a comical relief and was considered a true friend by all those he knew.

Preceded in death by his mother and father, Ralph and Louise Stephens; brother, JD Stephens; sisters Helen Hogsed, and Wilma Youngblood.

Mike is survived in death by nephews and their spouses Steve and Cindy Youngblood, Scott and Ann Youngblood; great-nephews Patrick and Alec Youngblood, and great-niece Hannah and Dustin Benedict. 

A viewing will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 at Old Union Baptist Church from 6-9pm, followed by funeral services Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11am at Old Union Baptist Church. 

Officiating services by Rev. Ricky Rogers and Rev. Steve Youngblood. 

Pallbearers: Alec Youngblood, Dustin Benedict, Clint Hobbs, Mike Souther, Mike Tesar, and Stacy Stephens.
