Mitchell Craig Rhinehardt, age 56 of Young Harris, Georgia passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020. Mitchell was born on April 27, 1964 in Blairsville, Georgia to Mr. and Mrs. H.L. and Ruby (Hunnicutt) Rhinehardt. He is a member of Woods Grove Baptist Church and a member of the Stephens Masonic Lodge. Mitchell, at age of 18, was the youngest manager of U.S. Cable Television Company where he gained experience and went on to build cable television companies for Bald Mountain Park, The Top of Georgia and Gainesville. He later was on the Towns County Board of Education and then served as the Mayor of Andrews, North Carolina. He also founded and built Hiawassee Cable Board and then the Andrews Cable Board. Mitchell was the preacher at Second Baptist Church in Murphy and later on Corner Stone Baptist Church in Andrews.Mitchell never stopped giving of himself and the knowledge he had gained. He was a humble man who would never tell his accomplishments to anyone. In his spare time he was an avid hunter, loved working in his garden, and was always busy doing something. He had a heart of gold, was a huge Elvis fan, loved to sing and was said he could make a rock smile. Mitchell was an amazing person but above all else he LOVED THE LORD with all his heart. He was a loving son and brother, a devoted husband and father, a doting grandpa, and a true friend. He touched many lives and will truly be missed. He is survived by his loving wife Amanda Rhinehardt, parents, H.L. and Ruby Rhinehardt; children, Craig Rhinehardt (son of Doreen Argyle), Brianna White, Miranda White and Dylan White; grandchildren, Arianna White and Asher Campbell; sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Gary Pyrlik; aunts and uncles, Ruth and Jimmy Rogers, William Hunnicut, Betty Dyer, J.L. Rhinehardt and Virginia Bradley. Mitchell is preceded in death by his uncles C.L. "Bud" Rhinehardt and O.L. Rhinehardt and aunts Clara Turpin, Daphne Thomas,Lucille Jennings and Ann Segrest.
Visitation: Thursday, June 4. 2020 at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home from 11AM-9PM
Graveside: Friday, June 5, 2020 at 12:30PM at Old Union Baptist Church.
Pallbearers: Jake Pyrlik, Caden Pyrlik, Nick Pyrlik, Emmanuel Neace, Craig Rhinehardt, Dylan White, Ricky Dyer and Michael Neace
Due to current restrictions we have expanded visitation hours to be able to maintain only 45 people in funeral home at one time; we appreciate your understanding.
On Friday the family asks that you come to the funeral home at 12:00 but remain in your cars so that you may process to the graveside in honor of Mitchell.
Banister-Cooper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Mitchell Rhinehardt.
