Nancy Lee Blackwell Watkins died September 20, 2024 at her beloved mountain home in Hiawassee, Georgia at the age of 76. She was born on December 13, 1947 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to O.B. and Margaret Blackwell. She graduated from Stuttgart High School in 1965 and attended the University of Arkansas.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles F “Frank” Watkins, her brothers Richard Meehan of Stuttgart and Ned Meehan of Lady Lake, Florida, great-nephew Garrett Murray, and her niece Kerry Maier of Stuttgart.
She is survived by her fur children, Ginger and Baxter, her sister Margaret “Hobbie” Blackwell Oliver (Dennis), her sisters-in law Faye Meehan of Stuttgart and Meg Meehan of Lady Lake Florida, her brother-in law Steve Watkins (Irena) of Appling Georgia. Her nieces Margo Hafner (Joe) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Lauri Tull (Wes) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Pam Burdett (J. P. Shifflett) of Stuttgart, Kristi Maddox (Jason) of Stuttgart, Sarah Solorzano (Jorge) of Millersville, Maryland, one nephew Ted Meehan (Allison) of Newark, Delaware and many great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Nancy’s neighbors Kim and Dana Russell for all their love, care and assistance they have provided Nancy over the last few years.
