Opal "Granny" Carrie Walls

Mrs. Opal “Granny” Carrie Walls, age 94, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on August 21, 2020. Opal was born in Hiawassee, Georgia on April 2, 1926 to the late Toliver and EllaBell (McKenney) Wheeler. Granny, as she was lovingly called, was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church for a number of years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt but most of all, she loved the Lord. Opal was preceded in death by her husband Homer in 2001and her brothers, Truett, Edwin and Walter Wheeler. Granny is survived by her daughter, Marion Kenney of Lawrenceville, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Don McGregor of Flowery Branch, Georgia; son, Rickie Walls of Hiawassee, Georgia; grandchildren, Tracy and Brandon Kitchens, Scott Donaldson, and Christopher Walls; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Abby Kitchens and a multitude of nieces and nephews. 

Visitation: Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home

Graveside Service: Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Doug Chatham, Pastor Wade Lott and Pastor Bradley Thomas officiating. 

Pallbearers: Ben Krokonko, Brent Lawson, Jonathan Walls, Mark Walls, Dexter Williams and Walker Williams
