Mr. Oscar Junior Youngblood, age 79 of Young Harris, Georgia, passed away on July 24, 2021. Junior was born on January 15, 1942 in Hiawassee to the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar and Reba (Beck) Youngblood. He was a member of Old Union Baptist Church in Young Harris. Junior was a soft spoken, kind, gentle and reliable man. He showed that as a steady employee for Gilmer County Road Department for over 40 years, a faithful husband to his late wife for 57 years, and an exceptional father and poppy. Junior was a homebody; he enjoyed working in his yard and his garden. He adored playing and being silly with his great grandchildren, Gabriella and Haisley. His little dog, Bentley, was his absolute best friend and he never left his side. In his younger years he liked to go fishing and hunting. Junior had a good sense of humor and would lovingly poke fun at his loved ones for a good laugh.
Junior is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Stephens Youngblood; his above mentioned parents; siblings, Voyjay, Buster, and Jack Youngblood and Betty Dawson. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Ann Youngblood, Steve and Cindy Youngblood; brother, Coy Youngblood; sisters, Sue Dayton and Debbie Youngblood; grandchildren, Hannah and Dustin Benedict, Patrick and Alec Youngblood; great grandchildren, Gabriella and Haisley Benedict; along with a host of extended family and friends.
