Pamela Jean Young

Pamela Jean Young, age 60 of Young Harris, Georgia passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022 after an extended illness. Pam was born on April 24, 1962 to the late Mrs. Lou Jean Hughes. She was a devoted wife to Joseph for more than 37 years; they enjoyed riding motorcycles, going to concerts and the occasional road trip. She was a loving mother to her three children and an incredible Nanny to her grandson. Pam had a giving heart, poured precious time into her grandson's life and some would say she spoiled him a little. 

 

Pam is preceded in death by her mother; grandparents, Grady and Bertha Hughes; and in-laws, Herman and Mary Young. She leaves behind her husband, Joseph Young; daughters, Krystal Young, Natasha (Jake Harper) Young; son, William (Shanley) Young; grandson, Kaden Harper; brothers, Gary (Denise) Guffey, Greg (Lissa) Guffey, Chris (Shelly) Guffey; sisters-in-law, Amanda Nations, Debbie (Ronnie) Groves, Vickie Cox; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her honor to Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Cornerstone Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. 

 

Honorary Pallbearers: Brian Guffey, Hogan Guffey, Jordan Guffey, Andrew Guffey, Daniel Guffey, Aaron Groves, Tristan Waldroup, and Jeremy Hedden. 

 

The family would like to express extreme gratitude to the staff of Chatuge Regional Hospital for going above and beyond in providing exceptional care for our loved one; to Towns County EMS for the care and professionalism during all of our times of need; and to Regency Hospice for their compassion and guidance during a difficult time.

 

Family will receive friends Monday, August 22, 2022 at 2:30PM at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home.
