Peggy Casey Bogle, age 88, of Blairsville, Georgia died peacefully January, 29th 2025. Born in Greensboro, N.C., December 4, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Daisy Rhew and Julian Carr Casey. Peggy graduated from Mars Hill College in 1957 earning a Commercial Business Degree. On June 8th of that year she married Jerry Milton Bogle, of Granite Falls, N.C. Jerry attended Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory, N.C. They resided in Rockingham, N.C., Granite Falls, N.C., Sanford, N.C., Charlotte, N.C., Tega Cay, S.C., and Newberry, S.C. Jerry was Planning Manager for Colgate Palmolive Company, working out of the Charlotte, N.C. and Boston, Massachusetts offices. Jerry was deceased on November, 27, 2001 in Newberry, S.C.
Peggy was employed for approximately ten years by the J.A. Jones Construction Company of Charlotte, N.C. She was Secretary to Johnie H. Jones, International Division.
Peggy was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Rhew Casey and Charles Benjamin Casey; also two sisters Etta Grace Sherrill and Ruby Carr Casey Walden of Granite Falls, N.C.
Survivors include a son Kevin Lyn Bogle and his wife Laurie Bogle of Columbia, S.C. Also, a daughter Mary Beth Bogle Elder and her husband Luther Elder of Young Harris, Georgia. Grandchildren include Brandon Warner Bogle and wife Jenny Bogle of Easley, S.C. Krystyna Elizabeth Bogle Engom and husband Collin Engom of Columbia, S.C. Also, three great grandchildren Greyson Warner Bogle, Cooper Gaines Bogle and Lynnlee Charlotte Engom.
Peggy was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church, Hickory, N.C. serving on many committees which included The Adult and Family Council, New Member Committee, the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter N. of Hickory N.C., Presbyterian Women Circle # 7, and Monday morning Bible Studies.
Peggy's greatest joy was her family. She made every birthday, holiday, and get together a special event. Christmas was her favorite, surrounded by her family and her special recipe of Russian Tea. She truly was happiest when the family was gathered together. Peggy was in no hurry to leave this life but stressed that when her time came, everyone should celebrate!
