Phyllis Hilliard

Mrs. Phyllis Fuss Hilliard, age 78, of Warne, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022. She was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lewis and Mary Lee (Morris) Fuss on October 28, 1943 in Decatur, Georgia. She was a member of New Life Church in Hayesville, North Carolina. Phyllis was gifted the spirit of service; she showed up with food in hand any time someone close lost a loved one. She and Hugh would have been married 54 years in September. She was a good listener, sensitive and empathetic to those around her. Phyllis took care of her household, was a devoted helpmate to her husband Hugh, was a proud "swim team mom," and later in life was a doting grandmother. She used her talents of embroidering and cross stitch to gift to the children's church bookmarkers. Phyllis also enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches and coloring Bible verses to be hung in the children's Sunday School rooms. 

 

Mrs. Hilliard leaves behind her husband, Hugh Hilliard; son, Randy Hilliard; honorary son, Joseph Brooks; grandchildren, Trevor Jones, Kahlan Hilliard, Ashlyne Hilliard, Lilly Hilliard, and Meghan Hilliard; great-grandchild, Heidi Jean Jones; sister, Terresa Fulcher; nephews, Scott and Brandon Fulcher; along with a number of extended family and friends. 

 

Visitation: Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 10:00AM at Wages and Sons Funeral Home in Stone Mountain, Georgia 

Graveside service: July 27, 2022 at 11:00AM at Mellwood Cemetery
