Robert Paul Casson

Robert Paul Casson, age 78 of Young Harris, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Robert was born September 2, 1945 to the late Samuel and Anne (Dubbs) Casson in Brookline, Massachusetts. He grew up in Roxbury and Newton Centre Massachusetts and then spent most of his adult life in Cape Cod.  They moved to Georgia to be closer to family splitting time between Roswell and Young Harris. 

Robert was known for his dry wit, clever remarks, and is described by family as "larger than life", "lit up a room", "one of a kind", "huge personality", "loved me for who I was, never judging". 

He and his wife Barbara enjoyed travelling to Florida and boating and were members of the Freedom Boat Club. Robert served on the Watercrest Condominium HOA Board and in his free time he enjoyed studying about WWII History and watching movies from that era.  

His passion was snazzy cars from his Buick convertible at Univ of Miami to his Mustang Mach 2 to his precious Jaguar FType and finally his lifelong dream of a Jeep Wrangler. 

 

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Barbara Ann Casson of forty-seven years; daughters, Andrea (A.J. Galiano) Casson Galiano, Kate (Val Pusceddu) Minkin.
