Ruth Denton

Mrs. Virginia Ruth (Devotie) Denton, age 81, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. Ruth was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Horace and Ella (Yarbor) Devotie in Johnson City, Tennessee on November 19, 1938. Ruth was a member at Lower Hightower Baptist Church. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling, cooking for her family and tending to her yard and garden. She also spent time crocheting and coloring. Most importantly she loved her grandbabies and her family. 
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Ella Devotie; brother, Billy Devotie; and sister Jane Moore. She is survived by three sons and one daughter, Tony and Tina Denton, Greg Denton, Lycinda and Tony Butler, Curtis and Julie Denton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Clara Devotie, Leon and Brenda Devotie, and Frankie and Vivian Devotie; sister, Mary Ellen Smith; grandchildren, Austin and Lacy Denton, Lane, Cade and Paylen Denton, Megan and Steve Mullinax and Chase and Britney Butler; great grandchildren, Eden Denton and Charlotte Mullinax; along with many extended loved ones and friends.

Visitation: Friday, June 19, 2020 5:00-8:00p at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home.
Funeral: Friday, June 19, 2020 at 8:00p at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home  with Rev. Wayne Mathison officiating.
Graveside Service: Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Philadelphia Cemetery in Chuckey Tennessee at 2:00p with Rev.Tony Butler officiating.
