Sally Smith Miller

Sally Smith Miller, 90, passed away on Friday May 5, 2023. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts on
February 1, 1933, to John and Marie Smith of Gloucester, Massachusetts. Sally was a graduate of Colby-
Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire.

Sally and her husband Don were owners of the Palm Garden Restaurant in Largo, Florida; co-owners of
Canterbury Inn of Cullowhee, North Carolina and Sally owned the Holly Tree of Cullowhee, North
Carolina. Sally was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed Bingo, knitting, and cross stitching.
Surviving Sally is her daughter Kimberly Miller Sherrill (Jim); her grandsons, David P. Sherrill (Carrie) and
Tony Lee Stiwinter; her great-grandchildren, Tyler, Cody and Elizabeth; and her great-great
grandchildren, Barrett and Ada.

In addition to her parents, Sally is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Donald Bates Miller,
an infant son, Donald Bates Miller, II; and a grandson, Brandon Keith Stiwinter.

 

A private celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
