Sandra Jane Garrett, age 75 of Hiawassee, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home. Sandra was born in Hayesville, North Carolina to the late Clyde and Mary (Wilson) Nichols on October 31, 1948. Sandra was of the Christian faith, attending The Church of God most of her life. She worked at Ingles for over fourteen years often training new employees how to work as a checkout clerk. She also babysat for a number of years. She enjoyed being outside tending to her flowers and shrubs.
Sandra was preceded in death by her above mentioned parents; stepdaughter, Tammy Garrett; sister, June Parker; and brothers, Henry and Rudy Nichols. She leaves behind her husband of sixty years, Rex Garrett; daughter, Kimberly Mitchell of Hiawassee; stepson Anthony Garrett of Hiawassee; granddaughter Kendra Bryant of Hiawassee; brothers Wayne Nichols of Mt Holly, North Carolina, Tommy Nichols of Murphy, North Carolina, Ray Nichols of Hayesville, North Carolina, Jerry Nichols of Hayesville, North Carolina and Allen Nichols of Hayesville, North Carolina; and sister, Eulene Vassey of Alexis, North Carolina.
