Sara Margaret Hedden

Sara Margaret Hedden, age 88, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on October 15, 2017 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Hedden was born in Albany, Georgia on August 04, 1929 to the late James and Morlena (DuBose) Reeves. Sara was a teacher in the Towns County school system where she taught Home Economics, and later became a member of the Retired Teacher’s Association. She was a loyal member of McConnell Baptist Church of Hiawassee and also the longest serving Eastern Star member in the area for an amazing 67 years. She adored her pets and her favorite hobby was sewing. She was lovingly known as Granny Sara. Mrs. Hedden is survived by her daughter, Eileen Hedden of Hiawassee, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Roxane and Glen Hicks of Hiawassee, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Donna Hedden; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of loving family members. 

Visitation: Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Banister Funeral Home

Service: Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Banister Funeral Home with Larry Hedden officiating. 

Interment: Osborn Cemetery following the service.
