Sara Kate Mauldin

Sara Kate Mauldin, age 87, a native of Towns County, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2022. Sara Kate was born December 2, 1934 in Cleveland, Georgia to the late C.C. and Fannie (Slaton) Abernathy. Sara Kate was of Baptist Faith. She was a worker, she spent over 30 years at Orbit Sewing Factory and then went to the Towns County Child Development for 20 years to care and love on all the babies in the nursery. She enjoyed cooking for her family and baking all kinds of goodies over the years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 45 years, Rondal Mauldin; daughter, Sharon Mauldin Arrowood; brothers, Claude Abernathy, Clifford Abernathy, Arthur Abernathy, Comer Abernathy. She is survived in death by her daughter, Shelia Mauldin; many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends that will miss her dearly.

 

Visitation: Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 4:00-7:00pm at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 11:00am at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Nicholson officiating. Interment will follow at Burch cemetery.

 

Pallbearers: Casey Shook, Jeremy Eller, Devon Conaster, Mark Nicholson, Mickey Denton, Leo Abernathy 

Honorary: David Shook, Rodney Underwood, Roy Dean Sprinkles

 

 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help defray expenses.
