Sherry Penland Pittman

Sherry Helen (Penland) Pittman, age 53, of Blairsville, Georgia went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 7, 2021. She was born June 26, 1968 and was adopted by William and Elizabeth Penland in 1970 while living in Conyers, Georgia. Sherry was a member of Bunker Hill Baptist Church in Blairsville, Georgia and was the co-owner of Bill's Truck and Auto. Sherry never met a stranger. She was kind, humble, and loved her family and dogs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth Penland of Hayesville, North Carolina; a son and a daughter.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Pittman of Blairsville, Georgia; children, Jessica Cody, Steven Anderson, Michelle Dodson, Zachary Moss, Christine Queen, and Garrett Segars; several grandchildren; sister and brother in law, Beth and Eric Edkin of Vidalia, Georgia; brother and sister in law Rodney and Tonya Penland of Hayesville, North Carolina.
The family received friends and family Friday, November 12, 2021 from 5:00-8:00pm at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home in Hiawassee, Georgia. Funeral was Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home. She was laid to rest at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Hayesville, North Carolina next to her parents.
Banister-Cooper is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Pittman.

Service: Saturday, November 13, 2021 2:00 PM at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home

Interment: Following the service at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery
